My new (to me) Marauder 25 is here and I want to make a stock that has a higher cheek rest. The rifle has high rings and the cheek rest feels too low. I'm looking for how-to's on stock making. I plan on making the first in lumber yard spruce, then a second in curly cherry.

Your info and references appreciated. Doug

A light, easy to work hardwood such as Poplar would be better than softwood for a first attempt. This would make a useable stock which wil take a better finish for little extrs cost.
