"- Walther's new custom-shop "MEISTER MANUFAKTUR"
Made for Masters, made by Masters: If you would like to own a real unique gun, but made by the Master Gunsmithes from Walther, your address from now on will be the"WALTHER MEISTER MANUFAKTUR" (Master Manufacture), situated in the Walther factory in Ulm.The newly established Walther master workshop, headed by experienced gunsmith Matthias Schulzendorf, makes one-of-a-kind firearms at the company’s facility in Ulm in close cooperation with customers. Anything is possible, whether it is an air rifle stock made of figured walnut burl, a PPQ frame with a Cerakote finish and a matching holster or an exclusive hard chrome surface finish. The possibilities also include sophisticated technical features like custom-tuned triggers for service pistols, different functional elements or special sights. As a longtime member of the company, Matthias Schulzendorf knows everything about production at Walther. He is familiar with the machinery and can draw on the know-how of his colleagues at the factory. But the master craftsman, who was trained in the famous gunsmithing town of Suhl, is always ready to add his own personal touch or give practical shooting tips."

Walther said they had no plans to release an FT version of the LG400 and my impression was that they did not like people customising / messing with their perfectly good rifle (I have worked for a German manufacturer).
With that stock and a 16J reg, they would have a rifle that nobody would want to mess with.
I think the German manufacturers are missing a trick here.

Indeed, I think the same thing..
It's really not difficult for a manufacturer to propose an original 16 joules version !
Some Germans are hard head !!

Neil, if you look at the PDF , its seems like a boutique catered to ..well...you know what I mean.
Having said that, Its all bog standard custom (LITE) stuff- ie: Stock in Walnut (various grades) , then standard German parts MEC, AHG, whatever; then, anodise those alu parts or not...and they call that custom
Not in my book. Its all mix and match colours... now if they added a UK consultant gunsmith or two, to tag along for their "Export 16J EWB" customers - then It could be a definite proposition. And we're talking about action mods., reg. mods., rail mods for scope, and why not even some titanium and colour carbon sleeves to boot ?
Am afraid all standard parts from assembly line, and customer chooses colouring; that's it- it stops there.
I mean Tirelli supplies them the blank Walnut or laminate "custom" coloured stock (I doubt the chap running it, slaves away on a piece of Blank walnut with his carpentry tools ; unlikely), and then they fit a bog standard 7.5J action and clean it up, polish it or whatever.
Voila ! Presto a "custom" Walther gun.
Therefore, only worth ordering a stock in Walnut, or exotica laminate colours made to your spec from them at this point.
---
NB: Alpazen and Neil are right- OEM 16J Reg (available of course in silver or black) and LG400 action , silver or black; finally, a choice carbon barrel sleeves, and we're really talking !

Things must be bad for them no doubt how pants the LG400 is compared with the opposition get copying or stay decades behind.
Know how the Germans work your fighting a losing battle.
Surprised to see this as it does not conform to a part number! Even a colour change to them don't conform to a final product and requires another part number.
Many others have been doing exactly the same for decades take Bowkett one breach block, one cylinder line assemble and call it bespoke one off.
Looks like a one person job taking production parts off the conveyor, organising finishing and assembly.
Depends what can be regarded as 'Custom' and cropped up many years ago around 2002 some where. At extremes this could be just a simple screw change to call a custom rifle or a proper one off hand made new design never to use any of same design and parts again, ultra massive difference.
You can even see producers stating brand new trigger when in fact its a very old design used on previous models last two decades. Where they get away with it is new machines bought which need a new written programme and tooling of course it cant be the same dimensions.
Just asking for trouble slapping an insert in between back of reg and block, so many others have done so and found out the hard way, Feinwerkbaus one with the FT they will never learn.

Ohhh that is so reminiscent of the short amount of time I worked for a German manufacturer.Surprised to see this as it does not conform to a part number! Even a colour change to them don't conform to a final product and requires another part number.

So frustrating having lets say you wanted an off the shelf product ie a Blue cylinder on an off the shelf final product that comes with another colour cylinder. Easy way out is ask the shop to swap cylinders over and retain the one on rifle as a stock item.
This is even when the shop places an order with producer and literally picking up blue instead of say self colour or black cylinder. Greeted with theres no part number cant be done.
Customer service can be hit or miss depending who ordering through and what country. If want an off the shelf part that literally just needs picking off the shelf can be waiting anything from 5 days to 3 1/2 months no joke. At liberty of when they decide to fulfil the order however urgent and out of action the customer is, not good for business.
