#1 BSA Barrel - Steyr LG110 - 4.5mm - Lucky one ?

Thu Mar 30, 2017 7:20 pm

...was lucky to have picked this up from Europe..Kosher BSA stamped marks, hammer forged barrel

Fingers crossed, it groups mega decent; if not, will use it for as paper weight, or blow torch it into into iron works for garden furniture

NB: Dont know if this is a Leupy or other gunsmith's fabrication mod.

Is it me or does the bore look off centre to the thread at the muzzle?

MMmm...could be - will measure with caliper upon receipt; according to owner - and he gave me specifcs etc...shoots very well. Proof of course will be in pudding. At least it's not the silver 'white' blank sold by a UK wholesaler as BSA a while back which Jon knows about -liner and sleeved up - which MAY not even be kosher as no BSA stamp marks.

Cant see no joint around the rifling approx. 8mm diameter.
May be from a BSA rifle of some description modded to fit a Steyr.
If a jobs worth doing, do it right or not at all.

...using my iPhone camera and testing this new forum by uploading some pics...

As mentioned, thanks to Dirk - super well packed AND protected by in transit as you lay the barrel against a plank of wood (I like the way you think and look after your kit !) - the barrel was covered in gun oil which smelled heavenly :!:

PS: to critical eagle eye viewers, I didnt clean or wipe off anything so you're viewing fluff and grime in and on the barrel ...which of course will be cleaned up with white cloth later when I test it..

PS: I count 12 grooves...anyone think otherwise ?

How do you get a close up picky?
Tried macro in the past and just as bad.
