....the ideal colour combo would be Black & Walnut parts - 16J of course.

Found these 2 pics on Polish forum...not sure if 7.5J E trigger, or actual 16J , FT set up...

Had a play with a 10m version at Harry's.Very nice but was told they had no plans of yet to make it in Ft format due to waterproofing the electronics.
I know a lad that tried to order one in 16j and he was told no,very recently, maybe that's some sort of hybrid or lowbrid ;) if the electronic trigger has been removed.

Steve,

The "Challenge" gun exists, MINUS the "E" electronics & all...and is sold with a "mechanical" trigger- when I spoke to Steyr a few years back, they said the latter one has parts that can be swapped around from 7.5J 10m to 16J and vice versa ;) ; so the difference is: Steyr Challenge "E" (electronic) Vs. Steyr Challenge (non electronic trigger)

So no big deal TBH if that's not a NEW "model" in the pics - but nevertheless, Steyr Sports still assembles them at factory to deliver to Polish wholesaler- and that in my book makes it OEM Kosher kit...and a "new" alternate FT model....(notice the small "n" in new ? :) )

PS: Looking at the high quality Pics. of the Steyr Challnge FT - notice lack of "F" Pentagram to denote alu frame or gun was originally a 7.5J, 10m model. Weird huh ? So that must mean Steyr Sports are perhaps testing the waters with this alternate FT gun...

Calling HARALD WIESER of STEYR SPORTS - Me WANT ONE ! ;)

Update: ME NOW Have 1 !! Thanks ;) >>> viewtopic.php?f=90&t=1237

-------------------

"With two players Paul Minorowiczowi Krakow and Polish Tomasz Kocembie to hit the first two copies of the high-performance rifles STEYR CHALLENGE specifications intended for Hunter Field Target competition for energy to 17J.

In agreement with the players in the factory rifles are individually configured to the requirements of both competition law and specific HFT shooter. In particular, precisely matched grip through the analysis of the drawing and the dimensions of the hand, which was modified from the version of the LG 110 and now at version Challenge we have a few of his types.

It should be noted that the new grips were designed with the participation of Mr. Stanislaw Veins multiple Champion and record holder in the Polish pistol competitions. Compared to its predecessor the LG 100/110 carbine Challenge 17J version is not much different in terms of the internal structure and the basic mechanisms of drain systems, controller or antyodrzutu. The only significant modifications relate to the connection of power and mechanical systems with electronic version "E" - with electronic trigger. The barrel gained while factory outlet at the fixing screws robaczkowymi in the block.

contrast, at first glance, we can observe a significant change in appearance rifle. The aluminum frame has gained additional stiffening structure by combining the mounting rail on the block with eight nevertheless a whole continues well known yet aesthetic version of the LG 100/110 what can already recognize the first contact that the equipment comes from a family steyr'a.

completely changed the design and appearance palmrestu. Currently, is made of walnut wood and fixed to the bed by two aluminum parts. Palmrest did not lose on their functionality and still can be almost any modification in different planes.

was also used in the Challenge completely new flask. Changed the structure, design and rules regulating the geometry of both the foot and the sideburns.
All parts are made from the highest quality materials while maintaining attention to every detail. Carabiner really looks impressive.

Specified in the statement of the weight is slightly overvalued in relation to the version of "HFT" because its value is entered ditch unoccupied additional elements necessary to version "Bench Rest" and "Running Target" and completely unnecessary in the shooting field, such as the cover of the barrel being an extension line of sight and sights sight and bow tie along with their base.
Nevertheless, the importance of rifle configured for HFT can be estimated at around 4000g. Added to this is the weight necessary optics and possibly exchange palmrestu or from overload set in order to adapt to balancing individual preferences of the player.

And so we have a set ready to Hunter Field Target competition.

With a wide range of adjustable bed geometry virtually every player is able to customize the rifle to his physique and preferences.

Drain system well known from previous versions ensures the possibility of individual adjustment and at the same time extraordinary predictability. Accuracy Challenge version leaves no doubt that we are dealing with a world-class rifle. In her Polish debut in the fourth round of the Winter Cup 2014 Międzyrzecze Upper during the event gathering all the leaders of Polish HFT Thomas Kocemba give a great result 58pkt. has replied another 100% to your account pucharowego and thus took the place of leadership in the most frequently planted HFT category 1 "

There has already ben a couple in UK 3 to 4 months used for HFT.

Its what turned me off buying one because sooner or later every Tom Dick or Harry will have one next year. Direct from factory near on £2200 as at May.

The electronic trigger, say no more stick with the simple standard mechanical single stage trigger which in itself is a let down to the rest of the rifle.
May well be millisecs but feels an eternity comparable with state of the art 1/2" stroke 25 years ago - yep that slow.
No matter how its dressed up you cannot better a mechanical trigger, at 'best' you can get it to approach a good mechanical trigger. Remember the 2nd stage on mechanical trigger is instant, from here on all electronics have a delay! Then theres a lack of feel something not quite right but Daystate cracked it years ago.
If a jobs worth doing, do it right or not at all.
